MEB Design were appointed by University of Oxford’s Wycliffe Hall in 2015 to undertake a strategic plan for the redevelopment works of their campus buildings. As a series of phased projects, MEB Design refurbished numbers 2 and 4 Norham Gardens, where student accommodation was improved with the integration of en-suite bathroom pods.
4 Norham Gardens was originally a private house constructed in the 1860’s and is in the North Oxford Victorian Suburb Conservation Area. It has been associated with Wycliffe Hall (established in 1877) since the 1870’s. The refurbishment works included the integration of bathroom pods into the bedrooms in order to create en-suite rooms. The new en-suite bedrooms have improved the living accommodation for the students. The refurbishment works have brought the building into the 21st Century.
