MEB Design were appointed by SLG Charitable Trust to carry out a Feasibility Study and a Strategic Plan for the redevelopment and refurbishment of their existing site. The Convent consists of more than 15 buildings as well as a Chapel, some of which date back to the 1890’s and are of significant heritage interest.
The Chapel Refurbishment scope of works consisted of removal of original Choir Stalls, replacement heating, lighting and sound system as well as redecoration. St Raphael’s (The Infirmary) became part of the works with improved accessibility through the replacement of the heavy ‘accessible’ door, with new automated (wireless fob) doors.
MEB Design continues to work with SLG Charitable Trust and the Sisters to define the brief and develop the next phase of the Strategic Plan.
