MEB Design have worked as architects for the Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs (NAYC) for a number of years. The Whitemoor Lakes Activity Centre project involved the development of a large site in Staffordshire. A man made lake from a former quarry formed the basis of the site where on it’s bank a large accommodation and activity centre was instated.
Constructed as timber frame the centre includes 6 independent accommodation wings for large groups, kitchen and full catering facilities, various meeting rooms and halls for groups and events of all sizes as well as communal areas.
The centre makes the most of its location with water activities as well as high ropes and climbing towers also installed on site.
MEB have even scaled the high ropes course during training days!
The centre was officially opened by His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester. The opening ceremony and plaque unveiling took place in a packed out main hall and later included a tour of the activities.
