MEB Design Architects were appointed for the rebuild and extensive alterations of an existing 1970’s bungalow. The clients had a clear idea of the appearance they were after; a rendered building with mansard roof. The site adjoined the conservation area and so this aesthetic was appropriate and careful consideration took place in relation to the height of the new design whilst accommodating a new first floor.
The development was built off the original foundations with a lightweight timber frame construction. The house is true to the detailing of its provenance and sites will in the environment alongside the conservation area.
The house was given an award from The Royal Tunbridge Wells Civic Society.
