Eldoret Rescue Centre, Kenya
Eldoret Children’s Rescue Centre is a project which MEB became involved with through the charity LARK (Linking Arms with Rescued Kids). The project is a development of a 17 acre site and will provide extensive facilities to house and rehabilitate street children of all ages, including young mothers and all resident staff. The development will also include a school, chapel, training, medical and administration buildings.
Planning Approval has been received for the development of the whole site and the first essential works included securing the site with a new fence.
The first buildings, the Administration / Reception building and the Distressed Mothers Unit have been completed. The next stage of construction will be the new Vocational Training Centre, whilst funding and support from the Ministry of Education for the Primary School on top of the hill is sought.
